ROD RIPPON

Principal

Mr. Rippon has taught Band and Mathematics for 39 years. He currently teaches Math at North Ogden Jr. High. His students have earned team and individual awards in the State Band Festival, State Solo and Ensemble Festival, State Math Contest, Region MathCounts competitions, District National Academic League Championships, and in District and Regional Chess Tournaments. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Weber State University.


He has played trumpet with Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus, Chamber Orchestra Ogden, New American Philharmonic Orchestra, Ogden Concert Band, Mount Ogden Brass Quintet, Crosstown Big Band, Junction City Big Band, and has done freelance work for religious services and weddings.

Mr. Rippon worked summers for 23 years for the Weber County Mosquito Abatement. 


He enjoys travel and has visited Taiwan, Germany, France, Austria, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Canada, and Mexico. He enjoys hiking and gardening. He is active in his church and has served in many leadership positions. He has been married for 40 years and has five children and seven grandchildren.
