DOUG BALL

Principal

Doug Ball grew up in Boise, Idaho.  He studied cello performance at Boise State University and ultimately graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at BYU and holds a Master of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho. He was commissioned as an Air Force officer in 1995 and retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2023; currently, he’s employed as an engineering manager at Hill Air Force Base.

 

Doug played with various orchestras, including the Boise Philharmonic, the Pensacola Symphony, and the Orchestra at Temple Square.  He has performed solos with the BYU Idaho Philharmonic, BYU Chamber Orchestra, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra Ogden.  Doug plays as occasion permits in various community events for Weber State University and other organizations. 

 

He is married to Michelle, who teaches Kindergarten in the Weber School District; Doug and Michelle are blessed with 4 children and 5 grandchildren. 

 

In addition to playing the cello, his hobbies include gardening, reading, spending time with family, and home improvement projects.
