“You have a good ear. Would you be interested in playing the French horn?”
“Sure. Sounds interesting. What’s a French horn?”

Thus began an adventure stretching into its fifth decade that has taken Mat all over North America, Europe, and Asia, playing all kinds of music, in all kinds of places, live, on recordings, in concert halls, arenas, opera houses, parks, tennis courts, recording studios, schools, and all sorts of unique performance venues. An adventure that will hopefully continue for many more years to come.

When not playing his horn on these adventures, Mat is a massage therapist who specializes in clinical and sports massage. He has “old man hobbies” (according to his four amazing children) like woodworking and playing guitar. He also enjoys refereeing volleyball and doing statistics for college basketball games.

His aforementioned children are the most important part of his life, bringing him amazing joys, along with the inevitable challenges, and many unexpected and wonderful adventures.
