Lena Wood

Lena Wood has been playing percussion for the past 29 years. She graduated from Weber State University with her bachelor's in music education in 2007. This will be her 19th year teaching secondary instrumental music. She has taught in Nebo, Canyons, and Weber school districts, with her groups regularly receiving superior ratings at district festivals.

In 2018, Lena was the teacher of the year for Midvale Middle School and runner-up as the district-wide teacher of the year in the Canyons district. She is now the band director and department head at Roy Jr. High. She takes pride in classroom culture and connecting with her students.

Lena enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and 5 fur babies. She enjoys shopping, watching her children play sports, and sitting on her patio watching the rain.
