Christina Schuman
Christina’s musical journey started at age 7, when she learned to play the piano. At the age of 12, she decided to break with the family trend of playing a brass instrument to join the percussion section, developing a deep love for rhythm and ensemble performance. As a member of the Weber State University Wind Ensemble, she had the honor of performing at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall.
She has been a member of Chamber Orchestra Ogden since it was founded in 2011 and recently assumed the role of librarian. Since 2018, she has also proudly served as the principal timpanist for the Ogden Concert Band.
Outside of music, Christina works as a staff accountant for a local business. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their dog, finding balance in nature between rehearsals and performances. She is also a devoted stepmother to three grown children; her eldest is married and has two young sons who are a source of great joy.
Family has always played a central role in her life. Christina is lucky to share the stage with her sister, who performs alongside her in the orchestra’s horn section. Her parents have attended every concert, offering unwavering support from the very beginning of her musical path—a presence that continues to inspire her with every performance.
