ANN COX

Ann Cox began playing the violin after her grandfather, a school band teacher, handed her a violin and told her that she should be a violinist. She attended Weber State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance.

Since college, Ann has continued to share her love for music and the violin through performing and teaching private lessons. Ann has a small private studio of 15 students, two of whom are her children.

She has performed with the Ballet West Orchestra in Salt Lake City for 17 years and has been a Chamber Orchestra Ogden member since its beginning. Two of her most memorable violin experiences were performing at the Closing Ceremonies of the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympic Games and traveling to Austria, where she performed at Schloss Esterhazy and various cathedrals where the works of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven were first performed.

She resides in Davis County with her husband and children. When she’s not playing her violin, she enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
